OPERA NEWS magazine called VAI "One of the classiest of the classical home entertainment companies." Since its inception, in 1983, VAI has been dedicated to preserving great performances of the past century. More recently, we have also released exciting new programs by contemporary artists. Recordings by Sharon Isbin, Paul Groves, Thomas Hampson, Piotr Anderszewski, and Matthew Polenzani have broadened VAI's chronological reach while maintaining the absolute highest standards of performance available on DVD, Blu-ray, and compact disc.
What is common to all releases in the VAI catalog, whether an early acoustic recording or a sizzling digital video of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, is a level of quality that has been maintained by simply presenting the the highest standards in musical performance. This is what our customers have come to expect, and it is what we will continue to labor to deliver.
Of late, VAI has begun to issue Blu-rays of past as well as recent video releases. Already available on Blu-ray are such iconic performances as Mary Martin as Peter Pan and Amahl and the Night Visitors as well as brand new digitally recorded concerts and documentaries.
On compact disc, VAI continues to release historic performances by Tito Schipa, Victoria de los Angeles, Marian Anderson and other luminaries.
