One of the most popular operas of all time, with a dream cast: Renata Scotto as Marguerite, Alfredo Kraus as Faust, and Nicolai Ghiaurov as Méphistophélès. The NHK Symphony Orchestra, NHK Italian Italian Opera Chorus, and Members of the Japan Chorus Union are all under the direction of Paul Ethuin. This production of Faust includes the complete “Walpurgis Night” ballet sequence, here danced by the Momoko Tani and Tokyo City Ballet Troupes. Bonus segment features an exclusive 2007 interview with Renata Scotto, in which she discusses performing in Japan, her illustrious colleagues, and her perspectives on the operatic art form. Embedded subtitles in Japanese remain onscreen throughout, with optional subtitles in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
