Conductor Neeme
Järvi and baritone Thomas Hampson are two of the world’s leading interpreters
of the music of Gustav Mahler. In this 2017 concert with the Estonian National
Symphony Orchestra, Järvi leads a personal and moving interpretation of Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, including – as a separate piece on the program
– the beautiful but rarely heard “Blumine", which was originally the Symphony’s
2nd movement. The program also includes “Songs of a Wayfarer” (Lieder
eines fahrenden Gesellen) sung by Thomas Hampson. PCM Stereo / Dolby
Surround Sound 5.1, Wide Screen, NTSC (Playable all regions), 85 minutes.
