Ivory Classics continues its insightful series of 'Earl Wild in Concert' CDs with a disc featuring three works for piano and orchestra. Earl Wild's Rachmaninoff 3rd Concerto performance from 1981 has an added interest - it's the first time on disc that he has performed the Rach III in its entirety - without Rachmaninoff's sanctioned cuts. This performance also has the speed, clarity and excitement that can't be matched in today's recordings. Also in this release is a 1980 performance of Weber's Konzertstück - the first time on disc for Mr. Wild and a spectacular 1980 performance of Liszt's Hungarian Fantasy - a work that has been a specialty of Earl Wild for many years.
