Brooklyn Baroque’s David Bakamjian performs six cello sonatas by Joseph Bodin
de Boismortier (1789–1755), one of the most prolific composers of
the French Baroque. Also on the program are two trio sonatas for cello and
flute, featuring flutist Andrew Bolotowsky. The music brilliantly blends
the French and Italian styles, balancing lyricism and drama—with plenty
of luxuriant textures throughout. Performed on period instruments.
